Dr. Gane­san Naidu grad­u­ated from the National Uni­ver­sity of Sin­ga­pore, Fac­ulty of Med­i­cine in 1990. He was admit­ted as a Fel­low to the Royal Col­lege of Sur­geons of Edin­burgh in 1999 and com­pleted his Res­i­dency in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2007 when he obtained his Fel­low­ship in Orthopaedics and Trau­ma­tol­ogy from the Royal Col­lege. He was awarded a fel­low­ship to fur­ther his inter­est in Orthopaedic Trauma at the Unfal­lk­linik, Mainz, Ger­many in Decem­ber 2007.

He is an Adjunct Assis­tant Pro­fes­sor to the Yong Loo Lin School of Med­i­cine, National Uni­ver­sity of Sin­ga­pore and a reg­u­lar Lec­turer at the School of Health Sci­ences, Nanyang Poly­tech­nic. He is also an Instruc­tor for the Advanced Trauma Life Sup­port Course in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Dr Gane­san has exten­sive expe­ri­ence in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery. His sub­spe­cial­ity inter­ests are pelvic and acetab­u­lar frac­tures, limb recon­struc­tion and frac­tures around joints.

Dr Lee Keng Thiam grad­u­ated from The National Uni­ver­sity of Sin­ga­pore in 1997. He com­pleted his Advanced Spe­cial­ist Train­ing in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2006, and was reg­is­tered as an Orthopaedic Sur­geon with the Sin­ga­pore Med­ical Coun­cil in May 2006. He under­went HMDP Fel­low­ship Train­ing in Sports Surgery and Upper Limb Surgery at the Olympic Park Sports Med­i­cine Cen­tre and Monash Med­ical Cen­tre, Mel­bourne, Aus­tralia in 2006/7.

His main areas of inter­ests include the arthro­scopic treat­ment of upper and lower limbs sports injuries, as well as the man­age­ment of all other shoul­der and elbow con­di­tions includ­ing frac­tures and arthritis.

He is cur­rently a Fac­ulty Mem­ber with the Pri­mary Care Acad­emy of National Health­care Group, and con­ducts reg­u­lar courses in minor Orthopaedic pro­ce­dures for the Gen­eral Prac­ti­tion­ers. He is also actively involved in the teach­ing of med­ical stu­dents from The National Uni­ver­sity of Sin­ga­pore as a Clin­i­cal Tutor.

Com­puter aided hip and knee replace­ment surgery, revi­sion hip and knee replace­ment surgery, trauma, and arthro­scopic knee surgery.

Dr Teo com­pleted his Med­ical Degree from National Uni­ver­sity of Ire­land in 1998 with mul­ti­ple dis­tinc­tions and awards. He returned to Sin­ga­pore and started his post– grad­u­ate train­ing in Orthopaedics. Apart from Tan Tock Seng Hos­pi­tal, he was also trained in the National Uni­ver­sity Hos­pi­tal (NUH), and in Sin­ga­pore Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal (SGH).

Dr Teo was awarded the Higher Man­power Devel­op­ment Pro­gram (HMDP) schol­ar­ship by the Min­istry of Health, and went on to com­plete a clin­i­cal fel­low­ship in Joint Replace­ment Surgery in Mel­bourne, Aus­tralia. The empha­sis of his train­ing included revi­sion hip and knee replace­ment surgery, as well as the use of Com­puter Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS) for hip and knee replace­ment. CAOS enabled min­i­mally inva­sive surgery (MIS) to be more reli­ably per­formed, and align­ment more accu­rately repro­duced for implant longevity and bet­ter clin­i­cal outcome.

Besides being a Clin­i­cian, Dr Teo is also an appointed under­grad­u­ate Clin­i­cal Tutor for the National Uni­ver­sity of Sin­ga­pore. In 2003, he was awarded the pres­ti­gious NUH Young Doc­tor Award for his research in stem cell ther­apy. He pre­sented in regional and inter­na­tional meet­ings and pub­lished in peer-reviewed regional and inter­na­tional journals.

Hav­ing grown up in Sin­ga­pore, Dr Teo is flu­ent in both Eng­lish & Man­darin, and con­ver­sant in Hokkein, Teochew, Can­tonese, and Malay. Patients may seek con­sul­ta­tion with Dr Teo either via appoint­ment in our Spe­cial­ist Out­pa­tient Clinic, or via doc­tor referrals.

Dr Ernest Kwek grad­u­ated from the National Uni­ver­sity of Sin­ga­pore in 1997, and com­pleted his advanced spe­cial­ist train­ing in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2008, obtain­ing his fel­low­ship with the Royal Col­lege of Sur­geons of Edinburgh.

Dr Kwek’s areas of inter­est include orthopaedic trauma, with spe­cial inter­est in pelvic and peri-articular frac­tures. He also has inter­est in post-traumatic limb recon­struc­tion and man­age­ment of bone defects. He is trained in the Ilizarov tech­nique, and has com­pleted a fel­low­ship in limb length­en­ing and recon­struc­tion in Italy under Pro­fes­sor Mau­r­izio Catagni.

Dr Kwek is an AO Alumni mem­ber, and is actively involved in orga­niz­ing AO Courses locally and region­ally. He has pub­lished research papers in inter­na­tional jour­nals and is also a clin­i­cal tutor with the under­grad­u­ate med­ical train­ing programme.

Dr Win­ston Chew Yoon Chong grad­u­ated from NUS with his basic med­ical degree (MBBS). After he obtained his higher sur­gi­cal qual­i­fi­ca­tions [(MMed (Surg), FRCS(Ed), FRCS(Glas)], he entered orthopaedic sur­gi­cal train­ing and suc­cess­fully exited to become a spe­cial­ist in Orthopaedic Surgery [FAMS (ortho)]. He has been with TTSH since 1996.

He has a spe­cial inter­est in Hand and Micro­surgery, and was awarded the Min­istry of Health’s HMDP (please check full mean­ing) schol­ar­ship to undergo addi­tional train­ing in Hand and Micro­surgery in the pres­ti­gious Chris­tine M Klein­ert Insti­tute for Hand and Micro­sugery / Klein­ert Kutz Hand Care Cen­ter in Louisville, Ken­tucky, USA. Upon his return, he suc­cess­fully exited in Hand Surgery, to be the only sur­geon to date to exit in both orthopaedic and hand surgery.

His clin­i­cal inter­ests include man­ag­ing frac­tures of the dis­tal radius and hand, prob­lems of the wrist, recon­struc­tion for rheuma­toid and degen­er­a­tive arthri­tis, and micro­sur­gi­cal recon­struc­tion of both upper and lower limbs, espe­cially for trauma. His pas­sion is in good patient care.

Dr Chew is also inter­ested in teach­ing, and is the adjunct clin­i­cal senior lec­turer of the Yong Loo Lin School of Med­i­cine of NUS. He is also actively involved in the train­ing of orthopaedic and hand sur­geons. He served as Pres­i­dent of the Sin­ga­pore Soci­ety for Hand Surgery from 2004–2006. He is cur­rently senior con­sul­tant and Head of the Depart­ment of Orthopaedic Surgery, and the Chief of the Hand Surgery Ser­vice in TTSH.

Dr Gamaliel Tan grad­u­ated from the National Uni­ver­sity of Sin­ga­pore in 1995. He com­pleted his orthopaedic spe­cialty train­ing in 2005. He sub­se­quently did his fel­low­ship in spine surgery at the Toronto West­ern Hos­pi­tal, Uni­ver­sity of Toronto, Canada.

His areas of inter­est are in neck and back dis­or­ders, degen­er­a­tive spine con­di­tions and spinal defor­mity surgery. He has writ­ten papers in sci­en­tific jour­nals and also pre­sented at local and inter­na­tional meetings.

He also takes an active role in under­grad­u­ate med­ical edu­ca­tion, being appointed an adjunct assis­tant pro­fes­sor to the Yong Loo Lin School of Med­i­cine, Singapore.
