Adj. Asst Prof Koh Nien Yue, Program Director, TTSH
Dr Koh Nien Yue is a senior consultant with the Department of General Medicine, with a special interest in Palliative Medicine. She obtained her membership with the Royal College of Physician (United Kingdom) in 1998 and is a specialist in Internal Medicine since 2002. Dr Koh has been actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of Internal Medicine and Palliative Medicine. She is currently an adjunct with Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Adj. Asst Prof Chia Chung King, Associate Program Director, TTSH
Dr Chia Chung King is a consultant with the Department of Gastroenterology with special interest in hepatology. He is the current Chairman of the Internal Medical Training Program.
Dr Goh Kian Peng, Associate Program Director, AH-KTPH
Dr Goh Kian Peng is a Consultant at the Department of Medicine in Alexandra Hospital/KTPH, specialising in endocrinology and diabetes mellitus. He is in charge of the Diabetes Exercise and Inpatient Diabetes Programmes at Alexandra Hospital. He trained as a Human Manpower Development Programme fellow in UK from 2007 to 2008, during which he obtained a MSc in Molecular Exercise Physiology at the University of Aberdeen. His current research interests are the roles of 5’AMP-activated protein kinase, Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma, coactivator 1 alpha and Sirtuin 1 in the pathogenesis and treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Having obtained the MMed in Family Medicine, Dr Goh is a collegiate member of the College of Family Physicians, Singapore and has been actively involved in the training and development of family physicians in Singapore.
A/Prof C Rajasoorya, Core Faculty Member, AH-KTPH
Associate Professor Rajasoorya is a Senior Consultant in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine. His subspeciality interests are in pituitary-adrenal disorders and other endocrine causes of hypertension. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and Edinburgh as well as a fellow of the American College of Clinical Endocrinologists. He was a Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Fellow at the University of Auckland Department of Endocrinology as well as a Visiting HMDP Clinician at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester), University of Virginia and University of Oregon in the United States.
Dr Philip Yap, Core Faculty Member. AH-KTPH
Dr. Philip Yap,trained in internal medicine and a specialist in geriatric medicine, is a consultant geriatrician with the Dept of Geriatric Medicine.He is also an adjunct clinical lecturer with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He has a keen interest in both the biomedical and social aspects of ageing, especially in the areas of dementia, end of life care, support of caregivers of elderly patients and the use of technology in geriatric care. He has published numerous papers in international peer reviewed journals and is a recepient of the ETAC research grant from Alzheimer’s Association USA. He presently sits on the committees of the Alzheimer’s Association of Singapore, the National Dementia Network at the Ministry of Health and the board of the Exelon Advisory Nucleus Team of Novartis. He was a member of the team responsible for the Ministry of Health Clinical Practice Guidelines for Dementia and also chairs the steering committee for Person Centred Care and Dementia Care Mapping in Singapore.
Dr Lieu Ping Kong, Core Faculty Member, TTSH
Dr Lieu Ping Kong works in the Department of Geriatric Medicine, Tan Tock Seng Hospital as a Senior Consultant. My area of interest and research is in urinary incontinence in the elderly.
Dr Mark Chan Peng Chew, Core Faculty Member, TTSH
Dr Mark Chan Peng Chew is currently an associate consultant in the department of Geriatric Medicine, Tan Tock Seng Hospital. My interest in Geriatric Medicine stems from the multi-dimensional approach to patient care offered by the specialty and the satisfaction of working with the elderly and their caregivers. I hope the internal medicine residency program will better prepare our junior doctors for the many challenges they will face to become well-rounded clinicians.
Dr Ranjana Acharya, Core Faculty Member, TTSH
Dr Ranjana Acharya graduated from Christian Medical College, India in 1997. She arrived in Singapore in 2001 and has worked in Tan Tock Seng Hospital since, obtaining the MRCP(UK) from Edinburgh during this time. She went on to pursue the Advanced Specialist training in Internal Medicine, Singapore and am currently an associate consultant in the department on General Medicine. She is actively involved in and enjoy teaching in both the undergraduation and postgraduation education programmes
A/Prof Lee Kim En, Core Faculty Member, NNI/TTSH
A/Prof Lee Kim En, Head and Senior Consultant, Department of Neurology, has been actively involved in the teaching of medical students and the training of medical officers for many years. His passion and enthusiasm remain unrivalled as he continues to reach out to the many that hunger and thirst for knowledge both within and outside the field of Neurology. Always ready to lend a listening ear to the juniors, Dr Lee never fails to give his support to all who come under his supervision and mentorship.
Dr Noel Stanley Tay, Core Faculty Member, TTSH
Dr Noel Stanley Tay is currently a consultant in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine with a special interest in lung and exercise physiology and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Received post grad¬u¬ate train¬ing in pulmonary rehabilitation at the University of Toronto in 2005/2006.
Strong advocator of bedside teaching. Believes that close mentorship and leading by example is vital in developing the full potential of trainees and students.
Nom¬i¬nated for the TTSH top 10 teach¬ers award in 2005 as well as the NUS dean’s teach¬ing award 2007.
